Evite makes it easy....

So, over the weekend, we had our "major BBQ" of the summer, we were hoping to make this an annual event. We planned, we sent out the Evite and everything looked great, though there were 65 people cheduled to show up (about 15 were kids) about 30 of those people did not actually show up. I did get one phone call letting me know someone was not going to be able to make it. Other than that, over 25 people replied yes to the Evite and then did not show up. The only reason this makes any difference is that we had bought food to take care of everyone (sirloin burgers and Kosher dogs). So, when you spend hundreds of dollars to feed masses that don't show up, is it wrong to be upset?

At least we know better for next year... Bring your own everything!

Life is a highway?

Ok, so no one's probably reading this and that's ok.

So, there's this Toyoa commercial that plainly states "Life is a highway" over some cheesey song that sounds like it was recorded by Bad Company. This is a terrible metaphor. Life is not like a highway (except when I'm stuck on the highway), it's like, you know, it's like life....

Though that's not the most annoying commercial on TV it's the one that annoys me most at this minute on the highway.
